I am finding myself in a difficult situation that I hope to find a solution to soon. I am going to be inheriting a bunch of old woodworking equipment...a planer, table saw, drill press, band saw, and hand tools. I had a relative pass away a few years ago that was a master craftsman who built everyone in the family grandfather clocks out of walnut. I am stuck with a bunch of pieces from a few unfinished clocks and I would really love to be able to put these together as gifts for the remaining few family members that they were intended for. Where do I start to get the training I need to get to this level of craftmanship as quickly and economically as possible. I'll say I'm in Central Kentucky for sake of location...but I would go just about anywhere for a few months to learn skills. Suggestions?

Check here: http://www.finewoodworking.com/SkillsAndTechniques/SkillsAndTechniquesArticle.aspx?id=28165 to find many woodworking schools. If clicking on the link doesn't work just copy and paste it into the address bar of your browser.

You should be able to find one that can get you started.

Also, perhaps someone on this forum lives close enough to you to provide in person assistance in getting started. There is a wealth of experience and expertise here. I'm sure others will chime in soon.

Narrow that down a bit!;)
