Just bought a shaper fence used...apparently its a 500 version not the 505+ (new table) version.

500 version: http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/itemfind.htm?item=555170
505+ version: http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/itemfind.htm?item=555141

For those keeping track, note the two knobs and short metal base...the pictured one is a 505+ version:

And here is a photo of a 500 version.

I know its a longshot, but anyone interested in trading my 500 version for your 505+ one? =)

I don't have one to trade but I am curious. Why do you want to trade? I know that they mount to the table differently but I have always thought that was about the only difference. Am I wrong?

Finding a way to utilize the 500 system should not be all that hard.

Found this (http://http://www.shopsmith.net/forums/attachment.htm?attachmentid=7514&d=1264292975) by doing a search. I guess maybe there are more differences.

Search a little further and found this (http://www.shopsmith.net/forums/showthread.htm?t=1712&highlight=shaper+fence) which may be more appropriate. Check post #21.

The 500 shaper fence can be modified by boring two holes into so that it can be bolted to the worktable. Shopsmith used to provide a drilling template in a pdf format. You might want to call them.

I drilled the two holes as per SS instructions a number of years ago. It does the job quite well.

You dont happen to have the instrucions still, do you? If not then the t-slot option looks like it will work.
