I'm really excited. Nick told us to be patient. He said he was working on something that would ease the pain cause by reduced Traveling Academy opportunities.
He said it and it is about to come into being.
Check here for a small sample of what we might expect to see in the Hands Online "Sawdust Session". This is NOT a Sawdust Session but I believe it is a fair representative of what one will be like.
The background music is fantastic.

Nick et. al.
I just watched the video post card that Dusty put a url up to be viewed. It played beautifully on this Mac.

I also just watched this sample video and it sure impressed the heck out of me. It's been hard waiting for what Nick has been telling us is coming and after watching the sample, I will say that the wait has not been in vain. Definitely looking forward to the upcoming sawdust sessions as well as the online training sessions. I use Windows Vista Home Premium Version and have an AMD Athlon 64 bit X2 dual core processor and again it worked fine for me.

If you'll look closely, you'll see that it's a Flash video, not Window's Media, so there is still a problem with the Windows Media and Mac's, at least on the SS site. Other Windows Media files have worked fine for me, sometimes. I think Microsux intentionally sabotage's their products to make them less than perfect on Macs. :(

The video played great on my Intel based MAC-Book Pro, but more interestingly I have been using the Shopsmith Mortising Tool for years and never understood the clearance issue. Now I do and will not do it wrong again, thanks Nick.

You are absolutely right. Been there done all that and I won't wear the T-shirt.
As a Mac user I have had to learn a lot of work arounds.

What is the procedure for getting registered into the interactive Sawdust Sessions?
I've done everything except call customer service in an attempt to sign up for the 3 part "Fundamentals of Woodworking" on the 27-28-29 August.
Are these by email invitation only?
Thanks for you feedback and all the kind words, folks. A few things:
Dusty, we haven't got the Sign In page for the for-fee Hands Online classes posted yet. This will come in a few weeks. For the time being, call Customer Service to register.
And for you MAC users: Don't be fooled if you can view the Video Tips but not the Test Page video. The video tips go out in Flash, while the test page has an imbedded Windows Media file. The classes will be webcast in Windows Media, not Flash. If there is a good response to Hands Online! classes, we will probably buy some Flash encoding software (BIG $) and switch, but for right now our streaming server is probably going to give you Apple-heads fits.
With all good wishes,
