I have one square that I trust, and know to be right on the money. This I use for all the maintence, blade changing, etc.
I purchased the Wixey for a number of reasons. Mainly, I use it as a double check device of my square. I have found that sometimes one is looking at the square from a "wrong angle", and it appears square when it is not.
I try to protect my square from that "Shop Idiot", and I have found because of the Wixey smallness, I can keep it with me more safely than the square.
Just like anything else, by making it a point to use it, you will find other uses for it!
My ShopSmith Prayer:
.........Grant me the wisdom and maturity to recognize, early in the day, that it is not a "Good Day" to be working in the Shop..............For I cannot bear to see that "Shop Idiot" place his hands on my beloved ShopSmith anymore.
